TOTAL INK COVERAGE MAC

Specs are a bit sketchy, beyond they require a distilled PDF/X file in Macintosh format (what's a Mac format PDF, anyway?). In fact except for the fact that this is going to be printed by someone in China (I think), about whom I know absolutely nothing, I probably wouldn't have even turned on the ink limit preview. Ordinarily I wouldn't have given this much thought, either, except that I read this thread a couple of weeks ago. I certainly can't see them, even zoomed in on the display, and I'm not sure anyone would notice the difference in the print. It makes sense intuitively that they would try to darken even the upper limit areas, but I would have thought the profile ink limit would kick in and limit the shadow density to 300%. These shadows have ink density of 308% over the darkest areas of shadow in the background. However, I also have some type with a drop shadow applied, portions of which pass over some of these areas, using the standard settings of multiply, and opacity of 75%. I don't consider this to be a problem, and suspect it may have to do some sort of rounding or calculation glitch as the individual channel amounts listed add to only 300. Here's what I see in the ink limit preview in ID: Some dark areas of the background on some of the images report as 301% rather than 300%.

Photoshop tells me that the ink limit for this profile is 300% Can I revive this thread for a moment? I've got an ad I've just prepared using the SWOP coated profile for the images and the working space.
