The same evening, walked up to my our neighborhood doctor and asked him if he was qualified to sign the Driver's license medical certificate only to be told that he is a private practitioner and cannot sign the form. Me: "Not sure, but anyway will check and comeback" Shop Owner: "Sir, is your doctor a Government Doctor? Only Government Doctors can certify this form!" Me: "If it is a question of getting a Doctor's certificate our family doctor will certify and I can come back and submit it. Shop Owner: " Sir, you need to get a Doctor's certificate and also there is a Rs. Me: "Since I am here I can as well fill the forms and submit, why do I have to pay Rs. 500 I will get the license in about half an hour to one hour" Went to the first floor, bought the forms for a fee, and as I was about to leave. Receptionist: "Go to first floor, there is a private party "selling" those forms and you can "buy" from him" Me:"If there are no forms, how can I apply for renewal?" "Are they available online for download. Receptionist: "Sir, NO form is available with me, all are gone" Receptionist: "Sir, you will have to fill form 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5" Me: " Madam, I want to renew my license since it has expired" Went to the RTO office "DL" Section and promptly went to the "Receptionist":

But this time despite warnings from a colleague, I decided to go to the RTO myself and get the license renewed.

THIS TIME I DECIDED TO DO AN ANNA! All these years a car driving school in my neighborhood, also an agent for the RTO, used to provide me with the 7 seven star service, of course for a fee. Two weeks ago I did notice that the license has expired and wanted to renew the same. I recently turned 50 and never realized that was the day my driver's license expired! I am so used to getting reminders for every kind of payment, and since I did not get the reminder from RTO, I had no clue that the license would expire.
